Most people find getting organized really really hard. The majority of people are bad at organisation and lead a messy life. So in the rest of this post I will share a few tips with you that will help you to be more organized in your life.

The first good tip I can give you if your house is unorganized and a bit of a mess is to just tidy it up and make a place for every thing you own. Write down a list of the things that always end up being moved and designate a place for each item.

Try to start small when it comes to organizing things. If your home or office is a mess then start small and try to organize one thing at a time. For example you could start with your desk.

Another tip to get your whole life organized is to have a daily schedule. So when you wake up each morning you will know what you need to do. Then when you do something tick it off and that way everything gets done and nothing gets forgotten.

Most people that are unorganized tend to make a mess then just leave it. If you want to be more organized then tidy up as you go along.

As an example if you’re in the kitchen baking something then tidy everything up as you go along after you’ve used it. Because if you leave it till the end there will be a huge mess that you wont want to clean.

Another great tip is to put things away after you’ve used to them. If you don’t do this then before you know it everything will be unorganized and out of place.

One of my favourite tips that I think everybody should use is to have a tray or box so when you come home you empty your pockets and put your keys and small items in there. That way you will never lose your keys or smaller important items.

If your life is a bit unorganized at the moment then these tips should be of use to you.

Why You Should Use A Professional Stager To Help Sell Your House

If you are considering selling your home, you may want to consider hiring a professional stager. These individuals work hard to ensure an apartment or house laid out correctly with furniture, making it much more attractive to the buyer.

Quite often, people will attempt to stage their own place all by themselves, but frequently this can be a real mistake. Granted, some brokers and agents can be of use, but if you want the best, you should hire a pro stager.

Because it is their job, they will be able to hoist your house to its fullest potential. You will be amazed at how they rearrange, remove, and titillate your place so that it looks ten times as good as before.

In addition, a stager will help remove any clutter residing within the house. They will also provide their professional opinion and advice on how best to redecorate the house such as which paint or accessories to use.

It has been proven time and time again that the first impression is the only impression when it comes to potential buyers and selling a house. For this reason, it is imperative that the house or apartment look well lit and professionally lay out.

As well as working on the inside, your stager will help to make your place standout from the crowd from the outside too. Remember, an ugly exterior will quite often scare away most people from even looking inside.

The recommendations they provide for the outside areas of the house include landscaping changes. This could mean taking down a tree or just adding a few little flowers to the mix. They will also give you a heads up on certain areas that require paint.

A professional stager may be considered expensive to some, while for others it is consider quite affordable. Either way, it is important to shop around and figure out which company acts in the most professional way with the best rates.

Why You Need A Closet Organizer

Get control of your stressed out morning routine by installing a closet organizer. A closet organization system doesn’t require a large walk-in master bedroom closet. Even the smallest of closets can be updated to a closet that will help you find peace of mind.

Space that is normally wasted can be utilized as a good starting point. The key is how you use all the small spaces in your closet. If you are like most, when you open your closet, you’ll find a simple rod and shelf system. This really isn’t a system at all. The builder that built the home made them as a minimum requirement that was necessary to sell the home.

These two elements (shelves and rods) are actually the foundation of a closet organizer. You will have to remove the existing rod and shelf as they aren’t as efficient as they could be. A closet organizer system includes multiple shelves and rods.

In fact, you can easily double any of your closet’s storage space with a closet organizer. One way to explain this is to visualize the rods as two stacked rows. The top rod is used to hang shirts and the bottom rod is for hanging our pants on. The rods, of course, don’t go all the way from wall to wall. You would hang a shelf tower off to one side.

No closet organizer system would be complete without a tower of shelves. Look for shelving that is adjustable. This type of system utilizes inset vertical tracks with slots that accept clips. Then each shelf is set on the clips at the height you determine to best fit your needs.

You can also place drawer units in the shell that hold the shelves (instead of the shelves) as an option in most closet organizer systems. Drawers are perfect for storing smaller items like your socks and underwear. Some people prefer to have drawers that fill the whole unit. It is nice, however, to keep some shelves for stacking your shirts and pants. This way, you will be able to pick out your clothes faster simply by glancing over all your options.

A nice way to keep your shoes organized and off the floor is to purchase a specialized rack that is made specifically for storing shoes. This also helps to keep you from misplacing any shoes.

This is really just scratching the surface to how beneficial a well organized closet can help reduce your stress level. And we could all use that.

Good Office Wiring Takes Planning

The hallmark of a shoddy office construction contractor is a failure to plan for the business’s needs now and in the future. These contractors often neglect important factors in the construction and may build according to the client’s present needs, but fail to anticipate future growth, electrical requirements, digital bandwidth and other necessities.

Electrical wiring involves making sure the connectivity throughout an office exceeds current needs. It has become apparent that technology is making electricity requirements grow at a staggering pace.

One of the best things that these contractors can plan for future electrical and bandwidth needs is to make sure all cables and wiring remain accessible. Cable management is extremely important because if you don’t plan for future growth, these wires always end up behind sections of walls or running through nearly inaccessible places. And this can cause problems in the future.

Cable and wire location problems can be eased by placing important connectors, hubs, and switches in easy-to-reach locations and trying to centralize them as much as possible, so that all wires and cables can be accessed from one spot. Good cable management means you won’t have to tear through your walls trying to get to multiple wires.

Contractors should always plan out the electrical work before the construction begins. If you determine where power sources will be and where all the Internet and phone jacks should be placed, you will be able to run your company more effectively. You can also be more efficient by not placing excess power supplies where they are not needed.

Another consideration is where power and digital bandwidth enters the office from the outside. The hub for this power should be easy to access and the components for shutting off and restarting should be easy to navigate and identify through labeling.

An additional important part of wiring comes after the sources are in place. Once the cables are laid, cable management becomes critical. Cables should be protected from damage because a broken cable is costly and annoying to replace. Good cable management also involves using things like cable racks and cabinets to organize cables for easy access and identification.

If you plan out your needs before construction starts, you can be sure that all your employees will have the power sources and bandwidth they need. It can cost a lot to make the renovations necessary to expand to keep up with a growing company, so plan ahead and take care of your cable management and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Successful Small Closet Organizing

Small closet organization can be terribly difficult. Without knowing the proper steps it can be almost impossible. All closet organization schemes require discipline. If you wan you closet to be organized and stay organized you must hold true to the fundamentals and believe in the basic tenet that closets generally hold too much stuff.

Everybody could benefit from a little less clutter in their lives. Some people would benefit a lot from de-cluttering while minimalist people would tend to benefit only slightly. However, everyone will benefit at least slightly by making an effort to de-clutter. People simply unintentionally gather too many belongings. As we gather we are reluctant to part with this hence clutter. We need to acknowledge that clutter is a direct impediment to being organized.

The first thing you should do when starting to organize a closet, any closet, is attempt to reduce your belongings. This step is often referred to as purging. Go through the entire contents of a closet to see if there are items you really don’t need. You must commit to at least finding some items to dispose of. Aim for purging 20% of the contents. This might be too ambitious for one day. So aim to get rid of 20% of the contents within a specified time frame. Ideally, the time frame is less than one week but take longer if needed to meet your goal.

After the purge you can move on to phase two. Phase two involves organizing the contents of the closet into separate groupings. Every closet can handle a certain amount of groupings depending on the size. For the purpose of small closet organization the groupings will be limited to 1 or 2.

One such closet organization category could be light bulbs. We all have a multitude of differently shaped light bulbs stuck in different drawers or cupboards. Try to collect all of the various light bulbs and store them in one place. Another such category could be batteries. We also have assorted batteries in every room that has a remote control but we can never find a proper battery when we need one. Collect all of your extra batteries and store them in one place.

You may want to consider buying a proper closet organizer. There are reasonably priced closet organizers for closets of all shapes and sizes. You can find closet organizer systems at most department stores. If you are disciplined and ready to put some effort into the process then small closet organization is achievable.

Do You Want To Know How To Organize Your Life Better?

Some people can find that they have been over run with clutter and they have no idea how it happened. We all have very busy lives and sometimes it can be hard to find the time to go through the garage, closet, attic, or basement to get our things more organized. Finally when we realize the clutter is this bad you are left with so much clutter that you have no idea what to do. I’m I hoping to give you tips on how to organize your life better.

A great way to begin is by visiting your local retail store and buy organizing containers you will need for storing your belongings. If you have no where for your belongings to be placed you can still get organized with these things. Plastic containers that have lids are a wonderful and cheap way to organize your belongings. If you have a storage shed or garage that is not well protected from the elements these containers are especially great because they keep your belongings dry.

When you start cleaning your home out and storing your items in these plastic containers you could consider donating some of your things to charity if you do not need them any longer. There are several charities that are always in need of different things. When you have the belongings you are keeping it is then time to fill the plastic storage bins. It can be a great idea once you fill a container to write what is in it on the outside.

By writing what is in the container on the outside you will save time when you need to find something. This is an excellent way to get organized and that will make your life less complicated. Once you have filled your containers and written what is in them on the outside it is then time to stack them where ever you will be storing them. This can be anywhere from a closet to an attic or even a storage shed.

If you do not have any room in your home or you don’t have a storage shed you can actually rent storage space. Storage units are usually very affordable and you can get the size you need and just pay a small monthly fee. You can also rent storage sheds for your own yard. Many people that don’t already have a storage shed assume that they are too expensive.

They are really more affordable than most people think and you can make small monthly payments instead of paying the money all at once. There are a few more suggestions to adding space to your home if you still need it. When your closets are over flowing with your things you can add a closet organization system. These are wonderful because it can be hard to store anything with just a rod and top shelf that comes in most closets.

A closet organization system will give you the option of extra rods for your clothing, more shelf space, and even drawers. Some of these systems can be bought in an affordable kit with everything included. If you want a more customized organization system you can buy everything separately and do it yourself. Some people prefer this method because you may need more shelves or draws than the kit offers.

These are all affordable suggestions to getting your life and home more organized. If your home is unorganized and cluttered then your life will be too. It can seem like the clutter is over taking your home. Being more organized and less cluttered will make things much easier to find and it will also make your home look and fill better.

Closet Storage Solutions

I was in need of some storage solutions. When I first heard of closet organizing consultants I chuckled to myself. Good grief! Who would waste money on something like that? Closets need to be tidied and I knew closets needed a good purge every once in a while. However, I couldn’t imagine paying someone to come into my house and give me advice on organizing my closet. I could just imagine her saying “all coats must face east to mecca” and “be ordered according to the spectrum of the rainbow”.

Times have changed and I have to admit that closet organization has become a fairly substantial industry. There are closet organization consultants and there are closet organization companies. If you Google the term hundreds and hundreds of web sites show up claiming that they can quickly help you redesign your closet organizational system.

Although, I feared organizational failure I feel pretty successful in my venture. I now have organized closets. My big eureka moment came when I noticed that my most career-wise successful friends had extremely well organized closets. This was a con-incidence they told me. They said they simply did not have time to deal with any disorganization in their lives. It made sense.

I started to copy the ideas of my friends. The first closet I tackled with my front hall closet. This closet was my Achilles heel but was also the closet I used the most. I started with a shoe rack and some clear plastic bins that I placed side by side on the top shelf. With these small additions my closet seemed infinitely more organized. I organized the contents of the bins between hats and scarves, sporting gear, and slippers. What a difference.

Since that time I have gleefully headed off to Canadian Tire or Home Depot every time I decided to add another closet to my list of organized closets. I have read many articles on the subject and I have contributed to many blogs. I have written in to housekeeping magazines and I have preached to my friends. My life is simply better since it became more organized and my life became more organized once I started to organize my closets.

The first step in organizing your closet is to be honest with yourself about what you really need and use. Once you have done this type of critical inventory make a bag of items to give to the charity shop. You do not need to hire a closet organizational consultant if it is not in your budget. After purging your closet, you can start with something small like temporary shelving and bins. Experiment a bit. There are decent and affordable storage solutions for every closet.

Put Multiple Organization Tools Into One

We’re using a lot of different communication and organization tools today. There are the basic tools, like an email client, an instant messenger and of course our phone. When you favor the latest technologies available on the market, you may even use Skype for phone calls over the internet.

It can be a hard task to add all different data, like appointments, notes, tasks and contacts into a single tool and don’t lose the overview. This often results into several tools, one for its own type of data. This way of organization may result in a higher level of confusion. When your different tools aren’t synced with each other, you need to ask yourself which program is holding the information you currently need.

Does it take too long for you to find a contact’s address, email or phone number. How long does it take to find a meeting slot for you and three other people? These are typical situations where a lack of functions and interoperability between your different tools make your daily work harder as it needs to be. It’s still common to use MS Excel for organization, but Excel is definitive the wrong software for this job. Excel is great when it comes to calculating with formulas, but it should be the last option for organization.

You should better consider using a Personal Information Manager (PIM). PIMs are designed to ease your daily personal and business work. Your output will rise with less effort.

Some PIMs are able to create a network which enables you to share information with others. Finding a free meeting time becomes a one click action, contacting others, too. When it comes to PIMs most users think about Microsoft Outlook. As Outlook offers the richest set of functions, it’s also the most expensive one. Some cheaper alternatives and especially designed for individuals or small companies are Pimero, iCal or Do-Organizer.

Do You Already Own A PIM?

PIM stands for Personal Information Manager. PIMs are software programs which help you to manage your personal data like appointments, tasks, notes, emails and contacts. A PIM can be seen as an electronic form of your organizer.

A good PIM should remind you about upcoming important appointments and tasks, so that you don’t forget them. It should allow you to manage all your different contacts and categorize them into different groups like personal and business. All information should be easily accessible and editable. The PIM should support you with your daily organization – not constrain you.

A lot of PIMs store their data on a web server. This enables you to access it, mostly with a modern browser, from every place with an internet connection. But this solution has several big disadvantages. What will happen, when you don’t have an internet connection? And what happens when the web server goes offline for some reason? You simply won’t be able to access your data. So it’s better to rely on a PIM which stores all data on your local hard drive. This is much safer and often a security measure. When you still want to access your data on the way, there are lots of PIMs who offer a web frontend, too.

Most users have more than only one computer they work with. You often have a computer at home, one at your office and probably a laptop when you’re on the way. A good PIM should offer an easy way of data synchronization, so that you have your data available on every computer and should not be concerned about your data condition on every computer you use.

Additionally your new PIM should allow you to share your information with other people. When you need to work in a team, it’s a good thing when you can allow others to access your data. Of course there should be some permission management which secures your privacy. Even when you’re actually working alone, you should use a PIM which offers team functions. You then can turn them on when it’s time for it. This way you’re ready for every future challenge.

Alexander Bartz is lead tech developer at soft-evolution, a software company which has developed the personal information manager Pimero.

Storage Solution With A Captains Bed

Every room in your home can benefit from creative storage solutions. Even the most meticulous and least pack-ratish people can always use a more storage space. Given the finite dimensions of our homes and apartments, finding that extra storage space can be a real challenge.

One fabulous way to utilize under appreciated storage space is the Captains Bed. Captain beds provide easy access to the often ignored storage space under your bed. Now I realize that people often store things under their beds but generally these items are hard to access. In fact, often those items stored under a bed are not accessed for years.

A captains bed has extra (usable) storage built in, in the form of pull out drawers. There is no bottom mattress on these beds, rather the platform to support the main mattress is slatted or solid. This allows a set of drawers to be built under the mattress into the side, both sides or end of the bed. These types of bed are most often seen in childrens styles, as it is easy for a child to access storage in these drawers.

Depending on the size of the bed, a captains bed will be able to deliver different amounts of storage as well. You will typically see only one row of drawers on one side of a twin bed, whereas any bed size larger than a twin captains bed will be able to have drawers on both sides, effectively doubling the amount of storage you can obtain. If you have drawers on both sides of your bed, you might choose to put everyday items on the side most easily accessed, while you store seasonal items or extra linens in the side of the bed which is harder to get to.

Captain beds can be purchased from a number of different department stores such as Sears, Target and the Bay. This type of bed can also be found in bed and mattress specialty shops all over North America. For the handy man constructions plans for a captains bed could be found online or in DIY books at stores such as Lowes or Home Depot.

Think about incorporating a captains bed into a bedroom in your home. These beds are only slightly bigger than the average bed and they provide a wealth of extra storage room in the bedroom. Once you have experienced the added storage solutions provided by a captains bed you will want one for every bedroom.
